beabadoobee & The Marías Collaborate On New Song “All I Did Was Dream Of You”

Roughly two years have passed since beabadoobee dropped her previous record, 2024’s This Is How Tomorrow Moves, a chart-topping U.K. success executive-produced by Rick Rubin. Now, the Filipino-British indie artist is making her return to the spotlight. After recently contributing the track “Say Yes” to the charity compilation Help(2), she’s back today with a fresh single titled “All I Did Was Dream Of You.” This new release is a partnership with the alternative pop group The Marías, who earned a Best New Artist Grammy nomination last month (an award ultimately taken home by Olivia Dean).
According to an official statement, beabadoobee has shared a “longtime mutual creative admiration” with the frontwoman of The Marías, María Zardoya. The pair collaborated on the track alongside producers Josh Conway, Gianluca Buccellati, and Alessandro Buccellati. “All I Did Was Dream Of You” presents as a mellow, atmospheric guitar-driven song that gains a sharper, more pointed edge as the lyrical narrative becomes increasingly complex. In the opening verse, beabadoobee reflects on waking from a sweet reverie about a romantic partner (or perhaps a crush), lamenting the desire to stay lost in that fantasy forever.
Please
All I did was dream of you
Swimming in my mind again
Wanting to waste time again
Ease
Always so easy with you
I don’t have to think
Pour another drink
As she enters the pre-chorus, her focus remains locked on this idealized perception.
